We’re launching a Community Seed Bank! Saving and sharing seeds are how we keep growing and adapting together. This is a free community resource that we will be stewarding. Any saved seeds from open pollinated food plants that you grew this year are eligible. Come by the Farmstand or visit the “Community Seed Bank” page in our Website to learn more and pick up or download a donation form. We’ll be cataloging and storing the seeds and anyone in the community is welcome to request seeds to plant out next season. We hope you join us in this endeavor to make Moab’s food system more sustainable and localized.

Running a farm is a whole lot of work. We’re a small team here at Easy Bee, with no one person dedicated to communications, and most of the time our whole staff is out in the fields or in the kitchen making things happen. We love receiving your kind words and inquiries and we do our best to be timely in our communications. We hope it can bring you some joy to know that in the meantime…this might just be how your email finds us.

The choice is simple. Don’t be sad. Preorder bread. Order your bread online before the end of the season to secure your loaf for pickup on 11/23, 11/24, or 11/25. The Farmstand will be closing for the season on November 25. Link in bio.

Did you know it’s the Year of the Cabbage!? We fully support singing the praises of this often under appreciated vegetable. It’s Farmer Emily’s favorite thing to grow! Why does she love it so much? “It’s so versatile! Shred it, sauté it, put it in a stew, it keeps forever! Ferment it and it keeps even longer. Learn to love cabbage and you never need to eat another vegetable.”

We grew 7 varieties this year and have already harvested over 1,667 lbs of cabbage!

Right now the Farmstand is fully stocked with Napa Cabbage, perfect for making a big batch of kimchi to get you through the winter. This round will be our last of the season so come claim yours before they’re gone!

📣 Calling all bread lovers!! Secure your fresh bread for your holiday table by pre-ordering today for pick up 11/23,11/24, or 11/25. Don’t wait! Limited sourdough and focaccia loaves available for pick up! Order online at Easybeefarm.com link is in our bio! #eatlocal

Peppers have been our super stars this season! We grew 22 varieties, including 11 hot and 10 sweet. With October just around the corner, these guys are still going strong. Get some in the Farmstand and swipe through to learn more about some of our favorite varieties.

The Ordoño pepper is from Batopilas Canyon in Chihuahua, Mexico. These colorful little chilis are beautiful and edible, and they are hot! They add a gorgeous pop of color and heat to any dish. Pop the top off and throw them into salsa, veggies stir fry, nachos, quesadillas, beans, and more.

Landrace Chili Pepper- A genetically diverse, open pollinated mix of chilis from across the southwest. These plants add lots of genetic diversity to our peppers so that we can continue to adapt the best chilis in Moab. These tend to pack a punch.

Anaheim! These classic green chilis got off to a slow start but they are producing beautifully now! These large chilis are great for roasting and storing or stuffing for Chiles Rellenos.

Lunchbox sweet pepper. Perfect for snacking. No other notes needed.

Lunchbox peppers and Shishitos! We grew heirloom shishitos and the plants have been incredibly productive. Blister in a pan with some oil for a delicious app.

Bell Peppers- a classic. You know them. You love them.

Red Bell Pepper. So perfect. No notes.

The Corno di Toro! Our rookie champs!! These sweet Italian frying peppers are new to the farm this season but they have already become a staple of the Farmstand. They fly off the shelves. If you haven’t tried them yet, you should!

Corno di toro- Carmen

Join us for an evening tour and workshop at the Lucy Test Site to learn about desert farming techniques and how to save seeds from what you grow. We'll be talking about the goals and vision for the test site, why saving seeds is so important, and how you might apply some water and labor saving techniques in your own backyard garden. We want to help everyone adapt their gardens to be the most successful they can be, so we can all keep growing delicious food for ourselves and our neighbors. So grab a friend, RSPV at the link in our bio, and come talk about how we sow the seeds for sustainability in Moab.
